We look for students who are passionate about developing their skills in data science alongside like-minded peers and seek to answer questions through data-driven methods. We love seeing how you are personally inspired by data science, and we want to hear about how DSU fits into that inspiration!

We recommend that applicants have some prior experience with data analysis or statistical programming, but this is not strictly necessary. Many of our members have little to no experience with programming or data science when they join. Our proprietary two-part curriculum is designed to get all new members up to speed and ready to contribute to projects!

Be yourself, and bring your personality! Be ready to talk about who you are, your values, and your goals in both a group and individual setting!

We welcome all students, regardless of their year or academic background. Membership is only available to current UCLA students at this time.
